Civil Litigation on the paralegal paper is the law of the Small Claims Court and the boards and tribunals where a paralegal appears for a party: who can bring a claim, where, by when, what has to be pleaded and served, how a defence and a settlement conference work, and what happens at trial and afterwards when a judgment has to be enforced. It rewards knowing the steps and the deadlines in order, which is a different skill from knowing the law of contract or negligence that sits underneath the claim.

These three quizzes drop you into a claim at a particular stage and ask what the rules require next. One question is about limitation periods and where to file; the next is about a defendant who has not responded, or a judgment debtor who will not pay. Every explanation walks the procedure, so a wrong answer teaches you the rule and where it sits in the sequence.

What’s included

  • Three quizzes of 25 questions, 75 in all, none repeated between them
  • No timer. These are for learning a subject, not for rehearsing the day
  • Two attempts at every quiz, reshuffled each time
  • No question shared with our mock exams or with any other pack
  • Written to entry-level competency standards
  • A competency report after each quiz. Both attempts are at the same quiz, so a change between them is a change in you and not in the paper.
  • A ranked study list, ordered by the marks at stake and not simply by your lowest percentage
  • Categories too small to read are named as such, with no figure printed for you to act on

Reach for it early if you have never run a small claims file, or after a mock exam whose report put your losses in the litigation process column. It sits well beside the Criminal and Quasi-Criminal Law pack, which covers the other procedural regime on the paper.

When explanations open: at 55%. That figure is ours. It is not a passing standard, and the Law Society does not publish one. It is there so nobody can collect an answer key for the quizzes by submitting an empty attempt. Under 55% you still see every question you missed, with the area of law and the competency it tested. Study, sit it again, and the explanations open.
